Today, Ba\u0161ka Voda is a modern tourism centre located at Makarska Riviera that has been nurturing a tourism tradition for over a century. Located on the green foothills of the Bikovo Nature Park, whose highest peak reaches 1,762 meters above sea level, Ba\u0161ka Voda offers archaeological and museum collections and numerous interesting attractions that attest to its rich history. Today, Ba\u0161ka Voda is most recognized for its pebbly beaches. It is one of the numerous beaches on the sixty kilometres long Makarska Riviera that is covered with picturesque tourist settlements. Ka\u0161tela
\nKa\u0161tela\u201ds peculiarity lies in the fact that it developed around fortifications \u2013 citadels (ka\u0161tela), in seven villages (Ka\u0161tel Su\u0107urac, Ka\u0161tel Gomilica, Ka\u0161tel Kambelovac, Ka\u0161tel Luk\u0161i\u0107, Ka\u0161tel Stari, Ka\u0161tel Novi and Ka\u0161tel \u0160tafili\u0107), each of them with its own specific traits so typical of this Mediterranean area.
\nAn interesting village is Ka\u0161tel Gomilica that developed around the historic fortification Ka\u0161tilac, which from the 16th century stands nearly intact on a small island, surrounded by sea and connected with the mainland by a stone bridge. The entrance to the citadel is protected by a high tower entered across a drawbridge.
