1. Days of Diocletian
Every year, Split revives the past from the time of Emperor Diocletian. It is a costumed musical manifestation when the emperor Diocletian with his wife Priscus in the imperial chariot passes from the basement of the palace through the city to the Peristyle and is accompanied by the Roman army in military uniforms and with weapons. There is a daily shift of guards on the Peristyle as well as fighting.

3. Feast of the Assumption in Sinj
This is a big Catholic holiday in Croatia. It is the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven. It is celebrated every year on August 15 and it is a national holiday. In Dalmatia, it is a shrine in Sinj where believers make a pilgrimage every year from all parts of Dalmatia. Many make a vow and go to Sinj on foot and some even barefoot. A procession is held in the streets of Sinj and a picture of the Virgin Mary is carried, decorated with many jewels that are gifts from the faithful with a request for the healing of their patients and the health of themselves and their loved ones.
4. Sinj alka
It is held in Sinj every year in August, for more than 3 centuries, on the anniversary of the victory over the Turkish conquerors on August 14, 1715.
Alka participants perform in traditional uniforms, carrying historical weapons celebrating the heroism of their ancestors. In 3 days there are 3 competitions and competitors on horses with a spear shoot a small hoop that has 3 fields and depending on which field on the hoop hits the spear so many competitors get points.
Alka has been included in the World Intangible Heritage by a UNESCO decision.
5. Knight's game Moreška on Korčula
Moreška is a Korčula knight's game. The performers perform the dance dressed in antique formal attire. This sword fight is performed to the accompaniment of brass music during the summer months. The drama dates back to the 17th century.
After the sword performance, the girls and boys dance old-fashioned dances called Tanac.

6. Split summer
It has been held for 67 years from July 14 to August 14 every year in the open city, on the Peristyle, on Prokurative, Gripe Fortress, in the Meštrović Gallery, in the Art Gallery, in the Emanuel Vidović Gallery and in various squares. Operas, ballet, dramas, exhibitions and concerts are performed.
Artists from Croatia and famous guests from other countries perform. Klapas, street singers and animators perform every day in the squares and inside Diocletian's walls, and spectators are free to enter, both for the citizens of Split and for foreign guests.
7. Split Festival
The festival of popular music has been reflected in Split for the last 57 years. It is the most popular festival dedicated to the sea, Split and Dalmatia. It lasts 3 days and the last final day is announced by the winners chosen by the audience and the jury.
8. Wine Festival in Jelsa on Hvar
The festival is held on the last Sunday in August. It is a manifestation of tasting the best wines from the area of Jelsa, white and red wine, opola, prosecco, with the obligatory traditional food. During the festival, which lasts for 2 days, various competitions and games are held, such as water polo matches, rowing competitions, and related regattas. After the evaluation, the best wine is announced with an emphasis on this variety of wine.
9. Feast of Our Lady in Solin
A Christian holiday celebrating the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is the patron saint of the city of Solin and is held every year on September 8. There is a religious, entertainment, sports program, as well as a traditional fair. It has been respected for centuries. The ceremony is held around the Church of Our Lady of the Island, and a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary is carried in procession.
10. Mrdulja regatta in Split
The Mrduljska regatta has been held in Split for 90 years. There are 3 rules. It starts from the city port, the sailboats revolve around the islet of Mrduljaš which is located between the islands of Šolta and Brač and the finish is below Cape Sustipan in Split. It is held in early October. At the end of the regatta, the winner is announced and the festival is held in the port of Labud with a lot of songs, food and socializing.
11. Fishermen's evening in Komiža on the island of Vis
It is held on the last Saturday in July in different locations. It is a big festival of Komiža that abounds in bathing various fish specialties, desserts and wines, but also offers various events from singing Dalmatian songs, dancing and music, which is especially interesting to foreign guests.
